A large part of all manufactured products ends up as waste. In The Netherlands, 70 percent of all textiles are thrown away every year without being recycled. By linking the revenue model and distribution system of the textile industry to the building world, we can convert the 148 million kilos of textile that we currently waste into building material. Contemporary pioneers and designers play an essential role in this. For example, insulation material is already made from paper, panels from old jeans and planks from old sheets.
